ABOUT BOSTICK PLANTATION:
At Bostick Plantation, our goal is to give you the HUNT OF A LIFETIME while entertaining you with the down-home Southern Hospitality that we are famous for. Bostick Plantation consists of more than 10,000 acres of prime wildlife habitat that has been intensely managed for wildlife for more than 30 years.

Bostick Plantation is a blend of the old and the new. It is the best of two distinctly different eras. At Bostick Plantation, we combine the comforts and Southern Hospitality of the Old South with the latest and most modern game management philosophy and techniques. The results speak for themselves. All game at Bostick Plantation is truly wild and all of our hunting is done by fair chase.

We hunt primarily from tower stands and shooting houses. Most of them are covered to protect you from the elements and to keep you comfortable during the rain. All of our stands have been constructed with the concealment, safety and comfort of our guests in mind. (At Bostick, we consider you as our honored guest, not just another customer.)

We maintain food plots to attract game near most of our stands. We also have feeding stations within sight of all of our stands. It doesn't matter whether you enjoy pursuing Trophy Whitetail Deer, Plantation Bobwhite Quail, South Carolina Deer Hunting, South Carolina Turkey Hunting, South Carolina Boar Hunting, South Carolina Quail Hunting, Eastern Wild Turkey or Trophy Wild Russian Boar, Bostick Plantation should be your first choice. The Bostick tradition is comfortable trophy hunting combined with down-home Southern hospitality.

Upon your arrival at Bostick Plantation, you will get the feeling of having been dropped back in time. You will be surrounded by century-old oak trees draped in Spanish Moss and everywhere you look you will find Lowcountry Cypress Swamps. And, as you drive the countryside you will see the old Plantation Houses that survived the Civil War. You will see the old cotton fields that are still being used for agriculture today. But, best of all, when you are on your stand, you will actually feel that you are hunting in the 1800's.

DEER HUNTING:
All game is truly wild at Bostick Plantation. There are no fences restricting the movement of animals on our land. Official state surveys demonstrate the buck to doe ratio to be about one buck for every 1.8 does. With our guests' cooperation, our highly successful trophy buck program protects young bucks, the four to six pointers, to ensure the visiting sportsman a chance to shoot a true trophy.

Bostick Plantation's management techniques are state-of-the-art. Hundreds of acres planted in game food plots. Guarantee plenty of available food for game. In areas not under general farming, we plant peas and rye. The more food available, the greater accumulation of deer.

Deer stands have been erected at proven high performance locations. Spots where those big 8 to 12 point trophies are likely to frequent. Bostick Plantation stands have been constructed with hunter comfort, safety, and concealment in mind. Our stands are made of steel or wood frame, either free standing or leaners. All sides are covered with camouflage and there is a seat in the middle for your favorite cushion.

We strongly recommend the minimum of a three day hunt for a better chance to bag a trophy buck. However, we can gladly accommodate longer or shorter hunts.

DEER ARCHERY HUNTS:
Bostick Plantation has set aside 1,500 acres of our Plantation to be used specifically for the bowhunting pleasure of our guests. No firearm hunting is allowed in this area at any time. We have our own permanent archery stands available for you, but we recommend you bring your own climbing stand, if you choose. Our guides will assist you in selecting a prime location for your stand and will also assist you with your climbing stand.

Our archery hunters are not restricted to hunting only in our 1,500 acre archery area. Archery hunters are free to hunt anywhere they choose on our 10,000 acre Plantation. Also, our archery hunting guests have the option of staying at either our Rustic Archery Cabin, Main Lodge, or Executive Lodge. The rates for accommodations vary accordingly. But, we are optimistic that you will find either enjoyable.

You will be placed on your stand before daylight and pick-up will be around 10:00 a.m. The middle of the day is for your choosing. We do offer our own archery range for your practice time. Additionally, we have great fishing on the Plantation. Your guide will return you to your stand around 3:00 p.m. You will be picked up at your stand shortly after dark. Our guides will be most happy to assist you in locating your game. We have excellent trail dogs to assist when needed.

WILD BOAR HUNTING:
Bostick Plantation has the best hog hunting in the South. Russian boar flourish in our ancient plantation swamps. These hogs are offspring of Russian boars imported by ancestors and released at Bostick several generations back. These boar are tough, gamey and exciting to hunt. They populate the many swamp and river bottoms that form part of the Savannah River watershed bordering Bostick Plantation.

These hogs are smart and have adapted to the wild so successfully to allow Bostick Plantation bragging rights to one of the largest boar-to-acre ratio in the entire southeast. Our wildlife management program has resulted in boars that tip the scales at 400 pounds, and that is a lot of screaming pork to encounter when you and a buddy are hunting these wily critters in some of our low-lying swamps.

Hog hunting can be one of the toughest tests of a hunter's skill when tackled on a one-on-one basis. At Bostick, our population of boar in the wild led us to offer one of the most unique, challenging, and rewarding hunting methods With 10,000 acres to choose from, our guides will help you choose a likely area and assist you locating game. You have the option of dog hunt or stand hunting - many of our largest boar have been taken while on a deer stand.

The minimum stay for boar hunting is two days. Lodging and transportation to the stand area is provided. These hunts allow you more independence and don't be afraid to ask for special tailoring in setting up a hunt to suit your particular needs.

WILD TURKEY HUNTING:
Turkey hunting is unlike most hunting because it is a one-on-one situation. When that big old boss gobbler is cock of the roost, you are faced with a challenge that is unlike any that you have ever experienced. He is unpredictable in just about everything he does. There is no way to describe the excitement you feel when that old gobbler is gobbling his head off and you are sitting - waiting for him to fly down in your direction. Give him that low tree yelp. Will he ever fly down? Maybe! He may choose to rest two or three hundred yards away.

Of one thing you can be sure, turkey hunting is a sport of great challenge, patience, practice and a lot of desire to outwit that wise old gobbler. In all my years of turkey hunting, I have had only one turkey come to me within minutes of the time I had setup and began to call. Here at Bostick Plantation we do our best to supply you with memories of a lifetime in taking that wily old bird.

On a typical day of turkey hunting at Bostick Plantation, you wake up before daybreak, come to a breakfast of coffee and Danish rolls and discuss the morning's plan with your guide. You get your camo gloves, face net, gun, camo cushion, and boots and we take you into the woods. You and your guide will go to a good listning spot and listen for that old boss gobbler to wake up the woods with a resounding gobble-gobble-gobble!!! Now, you know where he is. It's time to quietly slip within about 150 yards and settle in for a very exciting hunt!!!

QUAIL HUNTING:
Bostick Plantation has spent the last ten years working with wildlife experts to enhance habitat and manage the ever growing population of quail. Unlike many preserves, Bostick Plantation offers you the opportunity to hunt both wild and pen-raised birds.

And, for many who have never experienced a wild covey rise, it is an experience not soon forgotten. Unlike other licensed preserves who specialize in only pen-raised quail, at the Bostick we have extended our program, ever mindful of the tradition of wild birds. Our participation with wildlife experts has led to the development of quail raised for fast-flying, hard-shooting enjoyment. We stock birds before the season and often during the season to maintain a large covey rise. Our Quail fields are planted and prepared for hunting only Quail. It is not uncommon to flush a truly wild covey from 200 year-old stock, followed by a covey of our own special breed of birds. Naturally, our attention to careful habitat maintenance, good cover, and seed crops insures your successful hunt at Bostick.

We have discovered that the best experience come from a mixture of a casual ride through our rolling countryside and careful walk-ups on coveys. For that reason we have developed our own specially equipped jeeps with high rear seats, padded gun racks, and dog boxes. You get a panoramic view of the countryside and the dogs work from a special vantage point. Our kennels are stocked with dogs that will adjust to almost any style of hunting, whether you choose to walk or spend more time riding. Since many of you share pride in training and working your own fine hunting dog, we welcome them at Bostick Plantation. Just give us a call in advance and we'll arrange for their full participation.
