We
specialize in guided hunts for whitetail deer black
bear, moose and elk in Alberta, Canada
Wizard
Lake Outfitting is Alberta's most successful archery
outfitter!
We live where we hunt
and are very fortunate to live in an area rich in
wildlife. Our whitetail deer hunts take place in
Alberta's central Parkland region, famous for
producing world-class whitetail deer. The vast
Boreal forest of northern Alberta is where our black
bear camp is located, an area that is producing some
of the largest black bears in North America. The
Aspen mixed wood foothills are abundant with moose
and elk and you will have no problem spotting some
real trophies on your hunt with us.
Wizard Lake Outfitting provides professional,
personalized guided hunts. We are a small operation
and take great pride in running a first class
hunting outfit. We offer high quality, successful
hunts for trophy whitetails, black bear, moose and
elk. Our hunting areas are prime spots for trophy
big game and both our rifle hunters and bow hunters
have had great success hunting with us.
WHITETAIL
HUNTS:
We
specialize in guided whitetail deer bow hunts and
rifle whitetail hunts in the remote wilderness of
Alberta Canada. Hunt Alberta for Trophy Whitetail
Deer with Wizard Lake Outfitting Bow & Rifle
Whitetail Hunting Outfitters and Guides.

Whitetail
Deer Bow hunts- Early Season:
We offer early season Whitetail bow hunts from
September 1st to October 31st. During early season
Sept bow hunts bucks are still in bachelor groups
and on predictable feeding patterns. Pre-rut bow
hunts in late October is when bucks are on scrape
lines and susceptible to calling, decoying, and
rattling. Your chances of harvesting a trophy buck
during this time are as good as during the rut.
Whitetail bucks in the 140 - 160" class are
common and the big ones are the biggest bucks in the
world. Bow hunters on a typical Whitetail hunt can
expect at least one opportunity at a P&Y Alberta
whitetail buck.
Whitetail
Deer Bow hunts- Rut:
Hunt the famous 'Bow-Only' Zone surrounding
Alberta's capital city of Edmonton. The Bow zone is
arguably the best Whitetail deer bow hunting zone in
the world. Located in the Parkland Region of
Alberta, the area has been off limits to guns since
1974. The area contains prime Whitetail habitat
consisting of aspen woodlots for cover surrounded by
agricultural fields for feed. We hunt on private
property during the peak of the rut. This is a
limited opportunity, in the last two years 13 bow
hunters killed 9 P&Y bucks scoring between
134"-195", with an average score of
158".

Wizard Lake Outfitting took Alberta Outfitters
2007 Top Awards for Archery Typical &
Non-Typical Whitetail
Whitetail
Deer Rifle hunts- Rut:
We offer peak of the rut rifle Whitetail hunting in
Alberta's famous central farmland region. We stand
hunt from ground blinds to heated tower stands
depending on hunting conditions. Rattling is
extremely effective at this time of year, 50% of
bucks killed are rattled in. In 2006 Whitetail rifle
hunters were 100% successful. In 2007 despite
extremely warm temperatures and no snow, 8 Whitetail
rifle hunters killed 7 bucks.

BEAR
HUNTS:
We
specialize in guided black bear bow hunts and rifle
bear hunts in the remote wilderness of Alberta
Canada.

We
hunt trophy Alberta black bear during the spring
hunting season. Our bear camp is located north of
Fort McMurray in WMU 531 bordering Wood Buffalo
National Park. This huge expanse of wilderness is
one of the best black bear hunting areas left in
Alberta! This vast area is remote and until recently
has been inaccessible. There is low to no hunting
pressure and a high density of trophy black bears,
many in the age class required to reach both P&Y
and B&C trophy standards for black bear.
Baiting
black bear is permitted in our area and we use a
wide variety of bait. We hunt from large comfortable
tree stands or ground blinds at an average distance
of 20 yds from the bait. Our camp has a 100% success
rate with an average size over 6 ft, some exceeding
7 ft and weighing over 500 lbs!

There
are about 25% color-phase bears in this area and
high density of wolves, wolf tags are included and
we harvest a few each year. We are confident that
everyone who hunts here will have an excellent
opportunity to harvest a trophy Alberta Black Bear.

Main
Camp Hunts- Consists of first Wall tent camp
with kitchen tent, camp cook, and private sleeping
wall tents with wood stoves and comfortable beds.
There will also be all the comforts of a hot shower,
an outhouse, and shooting range.
Trophy Camp
Hunts- This Alberta trophy Black Bear hunt is in
virgin country never before baited for Black Bears,
the goal 18" P&Y min. Access into these
trophy bear areas will usually be more difficult,
from long ATV rides to air planes or jet boats. Stay
in a wall tent spike camp with one guide and only
two hunters in camp per week. An Adventure Hunt for
Trophy Black Bears not for the faint of heart!

MOOSE
AND ELK HUNTS:
We
specialize in guided moose bow hunting and elk bow
hunting in the remote wilderness of Alberta Canada.

Moose
and Elk Bow hunts - Rut:
The North-Western region of Alberta holds an
abundance of Moose and Elk. This region consists
predominately of dense Aspen mixed-wood forests
which provides perfect habitat for both Moose and
Elk to thrive in. Moose and Elk bow hunters have
experienced nearly 100% opportunity and an archery
harvest success rate of 50%. The common 2 year old
bull moose will have antler spreads between
35"- 40", and a mature bull moose will be
between 40"- 55". Bull Elk with five by
five racks are common and mature six by six bull Elk
score well over 300".

We
hunt the peak of the rut for Moose and Elk in the
same area. Bow hunting mid September for Elk to
early October for Moose. We hunt from a comfortable
wall tent camp accessed by ATV's. Hunting method is
to walk and call looking for bulls who want to
reply. At this time bulls in search of cows are
extremely responsive to calling. Once we get a
response we set the hunter out in front of the
caller. Hunters looking for an opportunity to
experience the rush of calling in big game animals
at close range need not look further.

We have a maximum of 4 hunters per week in camp.
This is a unique opportunity to harvest a P&Y
Canadian Moose or Rocky Mountain Elk.
