Where Everyone Is Important
GENERAL INFO:
Alabama has some of the best Whitetail deer hunting and Eastern
Wild turkey hunting in the southeast. Hawkins Ridge Lodge is located in a
relatively undeveloped part of Alabama, and our lodge is located on one of
the largest unbroken tracts of land in the southeast. Being known for its
big bucks and large turkeys, Hawkins Ridge Lodge, with it's fine
accommodations, is the place to plan your next hunt.
 
The terrain we hunt is a basically dense
type of terrain as is all of Alabama hunting. We have over 400 permanent
tree stands and 75 covered shooting houses. All of our biggest bucks are
killed out of stands or houses. Our stands are located all over the 12,000
acres of land that you will have the opportunity to hunt. We plant over 250
food plots for our turkey and deer. Each time you're in the woods you can
hunt from a different stand if you wish.
 
All of our land has been
managed for trophy bucks for years. The bucks that you will be harvesting
must have at least 8 points or have at least sixteen inch spread. You will
also be able to take does, bobcats, foxes, and coyotes.
 
After you have changed into your hunting
clothes, your license will be ready, and your guide will go over our rules.
Then you will have the opportunity to fire your rifle on our covered
shooting range. You will then be ready for the woods! You will be taken to
an area where your guide will explain to you where the stand is and describe
the lay of the land. After the hunt ends, your guide will pick you and your
Trophy Whitetail up if you were lucky enough to score. Your deer is then
dressed and put in our walk-in cooler. Your trophy mount is caped out and if
you wish, sent to a taxidermist of your choice.
DEER HUNTING:
We have over 12000 acres to hunt with over 400 stands. Our stands
consist of enclosed boxes, tripods, and ladder stands. The stands are placed
in hardwood bottoms, power lines, clear cuts, food plots and other areas
used frequently by game. The average length of shot is about 100 yards. You
will be placed in one of our stands before daylight and be picked up by our
guides late morning we then return after lunch to a different tract of land
and different stand. We constantly rotate the stands and land to prevent
over hunting. Hawkins Ridge Lodge strives to offer you an enjoyable hunt and
successful hunt.
There are no hidden cost and
no surprises all you will need is your personal gear. We provide lodging,
maid service, meals, field transportation, and limited game processing. The
hunt is customized from the most avid deer hunter to the novice hunter with
success in mind.
ARCHERY HUNTS:
Our Archery season starts off the
Whitetail Season in the early Fall. Leaves should be falling blanketing the
woods with a gold brown tint of Autumn.
During our archery season, we suggest that you bring your favorite portable
tree stand. Although it is not necessary because we have over 400 permanent
stands.
 
This time of the year food sources are abundant and
change weekly. You will hunt over corn food plots, around persimmon, white
oak acorn trees and established deer trails.
Our archery hunters at Hawkins Ridge have had a 70% kill
ratio or better since 1989, and numerous missed shots.
 
Hawkins Ridge Lodge is equipped to provide you
with most professional and specialized service to make your hunt successful
and enjoyable. All hunts are booked on a first come first serve basis. We
accept a limited number of hunters for each hunt to assure low hunting
pressure and to provide individualized attention.
TURKEY HUNTS:
On March 20th of
each year, spring gobbler season begins. Hawkins Ridge Lodge has the very
best to offer in wild turkey hunting. Our lodge takes a limited number of
hunters so each hunter will have access to hunt thousands of acres solely
to themselves. When you arrive, we will have an old Tom located for you.
Due to our abundance of long-bearded gobblers, we allow you to take two
turkeys per hunt. In the morning you will have the opportunity to work a
gobbling bird and after lunch you will be able to hunt on food plots and
in blinds. You can call your own gobbler or have an experienced guide with
you.
Our success ratio for the past several years has been 90% or better.
Hawkins Ridge Lodge is located on 16,000 acres of land, much of which has
been owned and farmed by our family for 100 years. This land is now
carefully managed exclusively for this production of trophy game. We are
located 12 miles southwest of Eufaula, Alabama and 10 miles west of
beautiful Lake Eufaula. We are located 5 miles from the Barbour County
Wildlife Management Area and Refuge. This refuge has long been noted for
the heavier weights and larger racks of Alabama's deer population and is
the showcase of all Alabama's management areas.
 
Alabama is a hunter's paradise, having the second largest deer and turkey
populations in the country. While you are hunting at Hawkins Ridge Lodge
you will have the opportunity to hunt out of some 475 shooting houses,
tree stands and blinds that are located on or near 250 food plots. The
combination of limited hunting pressure and isolation make the steep pine
ridges, oak flats and dense beaver pond swamps of Hawkins Ridge lodge an
excellent place for big racked bucks, and long bearded gobblers to mature.
QUAIL HUNTS:
Hawkins Ridge Lodge has
expanded it's hunting to accommodate the outdoorsmen who enjoy beautiful dog
work, perfect points and exploding coveys that stir a man's soul.
Quality, well trained pointing dogs and knowledgeable guides lead you to
each covey. While hunting with us you will be able to relax on our
special equipped hunting vehicles as you watch experienced dogs point back
and retrieve quail.
We hunt liberated quail that are fast flying to assure
that your hunt is enjoyable and action packed. You can bring your own
dogs or hunt with ours. We will also customize your hunt to your
request.
Hawkins Ridge Lodge also offers corporate retreats and
conference meetings year round. Located within a few miles of
beautiful Lake Eufaula, you can enjoy fishing, hunting, golf, horseback
riding, hiking or just relaxing on the deck at our boat house overlooking
our 16 acre private lake. All trips can be customized to accommodate
each individual person in every group. Most of our quail, deer, turkey
and hog hunts can be combined to accommodate the most avid sportsman.
 
Relax after enjoying the outdoors by a roaring fire in
the comfort of the main lodge. Enjoy an evening on the deck or even a
quiet walk to see the white tail deer, elk and buffalo that roam in the
pastures of our facilities.
DUCK HUNTING:
Hawkins Ridge Lodge offers preserve Mallard Duck hunts. The hunts
take place out of blinds over flooded corn and grain fields. Decoys will
be placed in the ponds and our guides will call in the ducks. If you
like fast action in the field there is nothing like watching hundreds of
mallards pouring into well manicured duck ponds at daylight.
 
Our ducks
are raised in the wild not in flight pens this is the most realistic way
to assure a quality hunt. Hawkins Ridge furnishes guides and well
trained retrievers. You can bring you own retriever if you wish. Hunters
will be allowed to take six mallards on these hunts but will be allowed
to add addition ducks if they wish. Accommodations for overnight guest

HOG HUNTING:
Hawkins Ridge Lodge has the very best
to offer in wild hog hunting. Our lodge takes a limited number of hunters so
each hunter will have access to hunt thousands of acres solely to
themselves. When you arrive, we will have an abundance of hogs located for
you. Due to our abundance of hogs, we allow you to take three hogs per hunt.
In the morning you will have the opportunity to stalk or sit for a hog and
after lunch you will be able to hunt on food plots and in blinds. Our success

LODGING:

accommodations found anywhere! Our lodge is a new, comfortable lodge with
large sectional sofas and a huge stone fireplace to relax and enjoy the
fellowship of each hunter and rehash the day's hunt.
O ur lodge is also
equipped with a spacious game room where you can enjoy a game of billiards
or cards. Or you might want to choose a video to watch from our hunting
video collection. Our huge front porch and back deck is perfect to relax
and enjoy the peace and quiet of country living. For your dining pleasure,
all meals are served "Buffet Country Style." Upon arriving at
the lodge, you will check-in to your room where we provide semi-private
bedrooms with each having its own bath. At Hawkins Ridge all you have to
do is hunt and relax. Our lodge is equipped to accommodate up to sixteen
hunters.
